March 26 (AP) — California cows may or may not be as happy as those California Milk Advisory Board ads claim — but it's not a subject for a lawsuit.
San Francisco Superior Court Judge David Garcia yesterday dismissed a suit filed by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals...
Garcia ruled that since the ads are produced by a government agency — they don't violate state laws against false advertising.
So the major revelation here is that false advertising laws don't apply to the state.
Well, duh. Oh course they don't. If they did, generations of civil servants would be jailed for the ever-popular We're From The Government, and We're Here To Help You.
